What changed in this version · 이번 버전에서 달라진 것
Version 6: four things. First, transfers abroad: every processor below now states the legal basis and how to refuse. For students in Korea these transfers, including the one to the AI provider, are processing COMMIT entrusts to provide the service you signed up for, made on the basis of this disclosure (PIPA art. 28-8(1)(3)); COMMIT no longer asks for a separate overseas-transfer consent. Second, your application answers: date of birth, address, family, and your other answers are stored to fill the applications you choose, without a separate consent. Only answers about race or ethnicity, religion, health or disability, sexual orientation or gender identity, and criminal or disciplinary history need the separate, optional consent “Save sensitive details”. It is no longer asked at sign-up or needed to use COMMIT. A “Save sensitive details” consent given before version 6 does not carry over, because version 5 made it a condition of signing up. When version 6 took effect, the special-category details saved under it were deleted: these details in your profile, and your answers to the application questions COMMIT found asking about these topics. COMMIT finds those questions by their wording, so an answer to another question that only uses such a word (for example, one about a public health program) may have been deleted too; please check your schools' questions once. You can enter them again after you turn on “Save sensitive details”. Patrick's notes from before are not changed by this: deleting Patrick's memory in Settings → Patrick deletes them. See “Your profile and application answers” and “Who processes your data for COMMIT” below. Third, Discord: “Community server and Discord” now describes linking your Discord account to get Discord direct messages, and Discord Inc. is listed with the others. It receives data only if you link. The Discord choice keeps its own version, so no one who already chose is asked again. Fourth, students in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland: “If you live in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland” below says what the GDPR asks us to tell you.

October 4, 2026: COMMIT's database, sign-in, and file storage (Supabase) moved from Australia to the United States, and the service that answers Patrick chats (Railway) moved from the Netherlands to the United States, so they run in the same region as the website. Your data, choices, and consents did not change. See “Who processes your data for COMMIT”.

Also new in version 5: this notice now names who runs COMMIT and who to contact about your data; names the processors that receive your data, including Supabase, Vercel, Railway, and Resend; describes the device list (up to two devices of each type, with a browser and operating-system label and the country of the request); lists the cookies COMMIT sets; states how to ask for deletion and a copy of your data, and how fast; states that COMMIT does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, and explains what happens if COMMIT changes hands.

Version 5: storing your answers to Common App questions — which include date of birth, legal sex, and citizenship — is now required to use COMMIT instead of optional, because Common App asks every applicant for them. It is still its own consent, asked for at sign-up as a separate checkbox; accounts made earlier are asked once and need it to continue. You can withdraw it in Settings → Privacy, which deletes those answers and stops application features. See “Your profile and application answers” below.

Version 4: the essays you write in COMMIT are now saved to your COMMIT account, encrypted, instead of only in your browser, so you can open them on any device and they are not lost when a browser is cleared. The reference drafts you asked for are kept with them. Essays already in your browser are moved to your account the next time you open them. Separately, you can choose to let COMMIT use your essays to improve its essay feedback; it is optional, off unless you turn it on, and never a condition of using COMMIT. See “Your essays” and “Improving essay feedback” below.

Version 3:
Since the last version COMMIT added a profile photo, invite links, saved Patrick chats, in-app notifications, two emails you can turn on, a calendar link, and recovery codes for two-step sign-in — and, the change that matters most, a real AI provider outside Korea that writes a reference essay draft when you ask for one. Each has its own section below, and the processors are named. Nothing you already chose changed, and publishing this notice switches nothing on.

Data categories · 처리 데이터 범주
Essential service data includes authentication identifiers, account email, coarse country signals, a coarse self-declared age-threshold statement, separate terms/privacy versions, security records, and workspace data you choose to save. Exact birthdate is evaluated only in your browser. The current v2 flow does not place it in a checkpoint request body, v2 cookie, RPC, or database row. If a legacy root cookie from an earlier version exists during an upgrade, COMMIT does not parse or use it as authority and expires it on the first response. This self-declaration is not identity-backed age verification and cannot prevent intentional misstatement.

Family sharing · 가족 공유
Parent data notice 2026-08-24.parent-data-v1. Family sharing is optional. A student must grant the current Parent-data purpose and choose each category for each relationship before a parent can see it. The default sharing set is limited to application, recommendation, payment-status, and deadline progress. Decision results, exact payment amounts, cost estimates, and admission tiers stay off unless the student separately turns them on. The student can pause or revoke a relationship at any time.

To route a family request, COMMIT normalizes the recipient email or student code in server memory and stores only a versioned HMAC reference. The raw target is not sent to database RPCs, written to COMMIT logs, or returned in API responses. For an email invitation, Resend, the email provider, necessarily receives the recipient address for that delivery. If an invitation bounces or is reported as spam, COMMIT keeps a salted hash of that address so it stops inviting it; the hash is not linked to an account and is kept until COMMIT clears it. Invitation and consent records use append-only, minimized audit metadata. A parent may submit coarse pre-decision progress updates; COMMIT labels those updates as parent-reported and does not turn them into an admission decision.

Essential and optional processing · 필수 처리와 선택 처리
Sign-in, account security, fraud prevention, eligibility checks, saving requested workspace data, and storing your application answers to fill the applications you choose are essential. Product analytics, session replay, research, marketing, AI processing, storing special-category answers (“Save sensitive details”, see “Your profile and application answers”), extension telemetry, essay style material, product-update emails, events-and-offers emails, personalized in-app offers, and Discord direct messages each require a separate current choice. Missing, expired, denied, or withdrawn choices mean that optional path stays off.

A choice also cannot activate a runtime marked unavailable. Session replay is blocked in this build. Browser-side analytics is disabled; authenticated product analytics stores only an allowlisted, minimized event after the exact database grant. Marketing attribution additionally requires its own current grant.

Emails you choose · 선택한 이메일
Account emails — sign-in, security, billing, and deadline reminders you set — are part of the service. Two other kinds are sent only if you turn them on: Product updates (new features and changes) and Events and offers (events, discounts, and offers). Both start off. Turn either off in Settings or with the unsubscribe link in any such email; we stop sending, and there is nothing further to delete.
로그인·보안·결제·직접 설정한 마감 알림 같은 계정 이메일은 서비스의 일부입니다. 그 밖의 두 가지는 켠 경우에만 보냅니다: 제품 소식(새 기능과 달라진 점), 이벤트와 혜택(이벤트·할인·혜택). 둘 다 꺼진 상태로 시작합니다. 설정 화면이나 해당 이메일의 수신 거부 링크로 끌 수 있으며, 끄면 발송을 멈추고 따로 삭제할 정보는 없습니다.
An unsubscribe link identifies only which account and which kind of email it turns off, and stops working 90 days after it is sent. Opening it can only turn an email off; it can never turn one on, and it never touches any other choice.

In-app offer notice 2026-10-02.in-app-offers-v1. COMMIT can use your saved work status, progress, current school limit and plan to suggest useful help or a small premium trial. It does not read essay or chat text, financial-aid details, family content, or inferred vulnerability for these decisions. This decision engine runs within COMMIT; it does not send these signals to an external generative-AI service or change your price.

Personalized in-app offers start off. They require your separate permission in Settings → Privacy and the Upgrade offers preference in Notifications. An Events and offers email choice cannot turn them on; turning off those emails does not change your separately chosen in-app permission. You can turn off in-app offers at any time and still use COMMIT and ask for help. Task coaching has its own notification preference. Quiet hours, contact limits, dismissals and pauses also apply.

With your separate Product analytics choice, COMMIT records limited help, progress and purchase/refund outcomes to compare helpful policies. A server policy may adapt which eligible policy it selects after enough complete observations; it does not treat time spent on the site as proof that you benefited. Product analytics is not a cookie-only choice. Turning it off stops this measurement and removes your linked experiment records through the consent boundary.

The current sample is one additional detailed school for seven days, only after you accept an eligible offer. No automatic payment or renewal follows. Schools already added remain usable. Turning off future offers does not take away a trial you already earned. Operational metadata and recent measurement events are scheduled for cleanup under the default 30-day retention policy; cleanup can lag while its worker is unavailable. Experiment and trial records needed for evaluation and preventing repeat grants can remain with your account until their applicable withdrawal or account-deletion process. Nonpersonal issuance totals do not identify your account.

Your profile and application answers · 프로필과 지원서 답변
The profile you fill in with Patrick or on the Profile page, and the answers you give to Common App questions in COMMIT, are stored in your COMMIT account so they can be shown back to you and used to fill applications you choose to fill. Only you can read or change them; family sharing does not include them. This covers what Common App asks every applicant — names, contact details, date of birth, legal sex, address, citizenship, family, school, tests, and activities — and the essays you place on an application. It needs no separate consent: storing it is the service you asked for. Social Security, passport, bank, and tax numbers are never stored: questions that ask for them are left for you to answer on Common App. Stored data is encrypted at rest by our database provider. It is kept while your account exists and deleted when you delete your account.
If you enter your school counselor's name and email on the Profile page, they are stored only so COMMIT can fill the counselor fields of applications you choose to fill. They are not sent to Patrick or the AI provider, and COMMIT does not contact your counselor.

프로필 화면에 학교 카운슬러의 이름·이메일을 입력하면, 본인이 선택한 지원서의 카운슬러 항목을 채우는 용도로만 저장됩니다. Patrick이나 AI 제공업체로 보내지 않으며, COMMIT은 카운슬러에게 연락하지 않습니다.
Answers about race or ethnicity, religion, health or disability, sexual orientation or gender identity, and criminal or disciplinary history are special categories of personal data. COMMIT stores them only under a separate, optional consent, “Save sensitive details”, which you can turn on where those questions appear or in Settings → Privacy. Refusing it limits nothing else: you answer those questions on Common App yourself. Without it Patrick does not note them during setup either; what you type in a chat stays part of that chat (see “Patrick chat history”). You can withdraw it at any time in Settings → Privacy, which deletes those answers at once; your other answers stay.
인종·민족, 종교, 건강·장애, 성적 지향·성별 정체성, 범죄·징계 이력에 관한 답변은 민감정보입니다. COMMIT은 선택 동의인 “민감한 세부 정보 저장”이 있을 때만 이를 저장하며, 해당 문항이 있는 화면이나 설정 → 개인정보에서 켤 수 있습니다. 거부해도 다른 기능은 제한되지 않으며, 그 문항은 Common App에서 직접 답하면 됩니다. 이 동의가 없으면 Patrick도 설정 대화에서 이를 기록하지 않습니다. 대화에 입력한 내용은 그 대화의 일부로 남습니다(“Patrick 대화 기록” 참고). 설정 → 개인정보에서 언제든 철회할 수 있고, 철회하면 그 답변만 즉시 삭제되며 나머지 답변은 그대로 남습니다.

A profile photo is optional. It is stored as a single private file in your own folder — one photo per account, PNG, JPEG, or WebP, up to 5 MB — and the storage rules let only your signed-in session read or replace it. There is no public address for it: each time COMMIT shows it to you, it mints a link that expires in ten minutes. Uploading a new one replaces the old file. You can remove it in Settings → Account, and it is deleted before the rest of your account when you delete your account. The photo is not shared with a parent, another student, or any third party.

Patrick chat history · Patrick 대화 기록
Your chats with Patrick are saved to your account so you can reopen them. Each chat stores the messages, the time, and — for a message you sent from a page — the title and address of your own COMMIT pages that were attached as context. Only you can read them.
Patrick과 나눈 대화는 다시 열어볼 수 있도록 계정에 저장됩니다. 각 대화에는 메시지와 시각이 저장되고, 어떤 페이지에서 보낸 메시지라면 맥락으로 붙은 본인 COMMIT 페이지의 제목과 주소가 함께 저장됩니다. 본인만 읽을 수 있습니다.
Before your message is stored, COMMIT replaces anything that looks like a Social Security number, a payment-card number, a bank account number, or a passport number. That check covers those number patterns only: anything else you type, and everything Patrick replies, is stored as written. Please do not type identity, banking, tax, or medical details into a chat.

A chat with no new message for 180 days stops being available to you: it disappears from your list and from what COMMIT sends when you request a copy of your data. Removing those rows from the database is a separate clean-up COMMIT runs, so until it runs the rows still exist even though nobody can read them. You can delete one chat at a time, or all of them at once, in Settings → Patrick; deleting all of them also clears the copy held by COMMIT's own Patrick answering service (not Google, which keeps no per-person copy). Everything goes when you delete your account.

In-app notifications · 앱 내 알림
COMMIT builds your notifications from your own saved records — deadlines you saved, items you marked, requirements that changed. Producing them sends nothing anywhere; delivery by email or by Discord direct message is described in the sections below. Standard kinds include a deadline coming up, a missing item found, a requirement that changed on a school's page, a comment from a guardian, and a guardian asking for access. A guardian-comment notification copies the first 300 characters of that comment so you can read it in your inbox. A guardian-access notification names the relationship only — not a name or an address.

You choose which kinds appear and whether any are also emailed, and you can set quiet hours; standard kinds start on in the app and off by email. Optional Task coaching and Upgrade offers start off in the app and do not have email delivery; the separate offer permission is described above. Security emails (new sign-in, two-step verification turned on or off, a recovery code used) are about the account itself and cannot be switched off. Notifications stay in your inbox — you can mark them read or snooze them, and they are deleted with the record they point at or with your account.

Invite codes and your invite link · 초대 코드와 내 초대 링크
Joining may need an invite code. A code COMMIT issues is stored as a hash — COMMIT cannot read it back. The link you generate to invite a friend is different: the code inside it is stored in readable form, because the link has to be shown to you again. It allows five sign-ups, expires after 30 days, and generating a new one immediately stops the old one. Expiring or replacing a link stops it working but keeps the record, which is deleted with your account. COMMIT records who was invited by which code so a redeemed invite cannot be reused; if you delete your account, the people you invited keep their access.

When you open a signup link that carries a code, the code is kept in your browser for up to 24 hours, only on the welcome pages, and cleared once it is used. It is not used for analytics.
코드가 담긴 가입 링크를 열면, 가입 화면이 읽을 수 있도록 해당 코드가 최대 24시간, 가입 환영 화면에서만 브라우저에 보관되며 사용 후 삭제됩니다. 분석에는 쓰지 않습니다.

COMMIT links out to a Discord community. The invite link is a plain address and carries nothing about you — no name, no email, no account identifier — and COMMIT does not record whether you opened it. Discord is not COMMIT: once you are in the server, Discord's own privacy policy and terms govern what it collects, and what you post is visible to the people in that server.

Linking your Discord account to COMMIT is optional, and COMMIT works fully without it. Nothing in this section happens unless you link. To link, you create a code in Settings → Integrations (12 characters, valid for 15 minutes, one live code at a time) and type it after /link in the COMMIT server. Linking is your choice to receive Discord direct messages (DMs); COMMIT records it as the optional choice discord_dm.

What COMMIT stores when you link: your Discord user ID (a number), the ID of the Discord server where you linked, and the time you linked. It stores only a one-way hash of the link code, with its expiry time, the time it was used, and the Discord user ID that used it. Your choice is recorded as a consent entry: granted or withdrawn, the version above, the time, your country-level jurisdiction from sign-up, and where you made it (the Discord bot or Settings). COMMIT's bot is set up to receive only the commands you send it; it is not given the messages you write in Discord or the member list, and COMMIT does not store what you post. The bot's operating logs hold a one-way hash of your Discord ID, not the ID itself.

What you receive once linked: a Discord DM copy of each notification that reaches your inbox or email, and two light reminders — today's open items (only on days something is due within 7 days, sent between 08:00 and 20:00 local time) and a weekly progress note (Mondays, 09:00 to 20:00). A DM is a short title written by COMMIT, such as "Deadline in 7 days" or "Your week on COMMIT: 3 done in the last 7 days, 5 due in the next 30", a link to your own COMMIT workspace, and a line on how to stop. It can contain counts of your own items. It does not contain school names, the reason line of an inbox item, guardian comment text, essay text, item wording, device names, or countries. There is no switch per notification: unlinking is how you stop them.

For each DM COMMIT keeps a delivery record: the title, the link, when it was queued and sent, the number of attempts, and whether it was sent, failed, or skipped. Unsent DMs are re-checked just before sending. A DM is held during your quiet hours (your own window, or 22:00 to 08:00 in your time zone if you set none), dropped if it is more than 48 hours old, and tried at most 5 times. If Discord reports that you closed your DMs, COMMIT adds your Discord user ID, the reason and the time to a stop list and stops sending; linking again clears that entry.

Discord Inc. is in the United States, and a DM is processed and stored on Discord's systems under Discord's privacy policy (discord.com/privacy). Discord is not COMMIT's processor: this is a provision to a third party abroad, made only for people who link, and it is listed with the processors below with what is sent, its basis, and how to refuse. Discord's own terms set its minimum age. COMMIT does not ask your age again when you link and does not decide whether you may use Discord; the only age information COMMIT holds is the coarse age-threshold statement you made at sign-up.

To stop: choose Unlink in Settings → Integrations, or send /unlink in the COMMIT server. Either one ends the link, records your withdrawal, and drops DMs still waiting. /unlink also asks Discord to remove the linked-member role the bot gave you; unlinking in Settings does not remove the role, so you can leave it or ask a server moderator. COMMIT keeps the ended link with its end time, the link-code records, any stop-list entry, the delivery records and the consent entries for as long as your account exists, with no separate expiry, and they are deleted with the account record when your account is deleted (see Withdrawal and deletion). DMs already on Discord are not deleted by either.

Calendar link · 캘린더 링크
COMMIT no longer offers a calendar link. On October 2, 2026 every link stopped working, and COMMIT deleted the stored link records, including when each was created and last fetched. A calendar app that subscribed to a link keeps its own copy of the events it already read, under its own terms.

Two-step sign-in and recovery codes · 2단계 인증과 복구 코드
If you turn on two-step sign-in, COMMIT gives you ten recovery codes, shown once. COMMIT does not keep the codes: it stores a keyed hash of each one, made with a secret the database generated for itself and never exports, so a copy of the table is not a way in. Generating a new set deletes the previous one. COMMIT also keeps a short record of when codes were issued, used, or refused — the times and the count left, never the codes themselves — and deletes all of it with your account.

Reference essay drafts and the AI provider · 참고 에세이 초안과 AI 제공업체
When you ask COMMIT for a reference essay draft, the request goes to Google Cloud's Vertex AI in the United States. This only happens when you ask, and only after you have granted AI processing, acknowledged your school's AI policy, and — if you attach your own past writing — granted essay style material.
COMMIT에 참고 에세이 초안을 요청하면 그 요청은 미국에 있는 Google Cloud Vertex AI로 전송됩니다. 이 전송은 요청했을 때에만 일어나며, AI 처리에 동의하고 학교의 AI 정책을 확인했으며, 본인이 쓴 과거 글을 첨부하는 경우에는 에세이 문체 자료에도 동의한 뒤에만 이루어집니다.
What is sent: the essay prompt you are answering, the word limit, the direction you picked, the fact sentences you marked usable, and, only if you attached them, your own past writing samples. Your name, email, account identifier, and school identifier are not sent. Before anything is sent, COMMIT scans the text for identity, contact, payment, and medical details and refuses the whole request if it finds any — it does not send a redacted version.

Google keeps prompts for up to 90 days to monitor abuse and does not use them to train models. COMMIT does not store your fact sentences or your writing samples as sent. The reference draft you asked for is kept with your essays on your account, encrypted (see “Your essays”). COMMIT also keeps a SHA-256 of each fact sentence you marked usable, and which suggestions you accepted or rejected and the reason you picked from a fixed list.

Patrick's answers, including during setup, are produced by the same provider, in the same United States multi-region. For Patrick, what is sent is your messages, Patrick's earlier replies in that chat, and the profile details you gave during setup, such as your name, citizenship, and school. COMMIT pins one region for every AI path, and a path configured outside the United States does not run at all rather than processing somewhere this notice does not name.

Your essays · 내 에세이
The essays you write in COMMIT — title, prompt, school, text and the versions you save — and the reference drafts you asked for are saved to your COMMIT account so you can open them on any device. COMMIT's servers encrypt them with AES-256-GCM before they are stored, under a key that belongs to your account and is itself encrypted with a key kept outside the database; the database holds only the encrypted form. COMMIT's servers decrypt an essay only to show it to you or to run a feature you asked for. Your past writing samples stay in your browser and are not saved to your account.
COMMIT에서 쓴 에세이(제목, 프롬프트, 학교, 본문, 저장한 버전)와 요청한 참고 초안은 어느 기기에서든 열 수 있도록 COMMIT 계정에 저장됩니다. COMMIT 서버는 저장하기 전에 AES-256-GCM으로 암호화하며, 그 키는 계정마다 따로 있고 데이터베이스 밖에 있는 키로 다시 암호화됩니다. 데이터베이스에는 암호화된 형태만 남습니다. COMMIT 서버는 사용자에게 보여 주거나 사용자가 요청한 기능을 실행할 때에만 에세이를 복호화합니다. 과거 글 샘플은 브라우저에 남고 계정에 저장되지 않습니다.
Your essays and their versions are kept while your account exists and are deleted with it.

Improving essay feedback (optional) · 에세이 첨삭 개선 (선택)
If you choose it — when COMMIT asks after your first essay check, or any time in Settings → Privacy — COMMIT may use the essays you write in COMMIT, and the suggestions you accepted or rejected, to build and test its own essay feedback. This choice is separate from everything else, is off unless you turn it on, and is never a condition of using COMMIT: saying no changes nothing about the service. COMMIT does not sell your essays or give them to another company to train its models.
COMMIT does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

You can turn it off at any time in Settings → Privacy. From then on, your essays are not added to anything COMMIT uses to improve its feedback.

Who processes your data for COMMIT · 개인정보 처리업체 공시
These are the processors COMMIT uses, the country where each processes your data, what each receives, on what basis, and how to refuse. All of them process your data outside Korea — in the United States and Japan. Each transfer to a processor is processing COMMIT entrusts to provide the service you signed up for, over HTTPS whenever you use COMMIT. For students in Korea it is made on the basis of this disclosure (PIPA art. 28-8(1)(3)), not a separate consent. The AI providers receive data only when you use an AI feature after turning on AI processing. Discord receives data only if you link your Discord account, and as a third party, not a processor. Payments are separate and described below. A processor that is connected but currently receives nothing says so rather than being left out.
COMMIT이 이용하는 처리업체와 각 업체가 처리하는 국가, 받는 항목, 이전 근거, 거부 방법입니다. 모두 국외(미국·일본)에서 데이터를 처리합니다. 처리업체로의 각 이전은 가입한 서비스를 제공하기 위해 COMMIT이 위탁하는 처리로, COMMIT을 이용할 때마다 HTTPS로 이루어집니다. 대한민국 거주자의 경우 별도 동의가 아니라 이 안내의 공개를 근거로 합니다(개인정보 보호법 제28조의8 제1항 제3호). AI 제공업체는 AI 처리를 켠 뒤 AI 기능을 쓸 때만 데이터를 받습니다. Discord는 Discord 계정을 연결한 경우에만, 수탁자가 아닌 제3자로서 데이터를 받습니다. 결제는 별도이며 아래에 설명합니다. 연결되어 있으나 현재 전달되는 항목이 없는 경우에도 빼지 않고 그렇게 밝힙니다.

Sensitive documents · 민감 문서
Financial-document extraction is unavailable. Do not upload tax forms, Social Security numbers, banking records, identity documents, or medical records anywhere in COMMIT, and do not type them into Patrick or an essay draft — the draft path refuses the request when it finds them.

Payments · 결제
When you buy a paid plan, Creem, the merchant of record, collects and processes payment-card and billing-address data under its own privacy notice. COMMIT receives only limited provider identifiers, product and amount fields, currency, payment/refund/dispute status, accepted policy versions, your purchaser statement (adult or guardian), timestamps, and release/catalog digests needed for access, receipts, reconciliation, fraud prevention, support, and legal records. COMMIT does not receive or store a full card number.
유료 요금제를 구매하면 판매자(merchant of record)인 Creem이 자체 개인정보 고지에 따라 결제 카드 및 청구지 주소 정보를 수집·처리합니다. COMMIT은 이용 권한, 영수증, 대사, 사기 방지, 지원 및 법적 기록에 필요한 제한된 제공업체 식별자, 상품·금액·통화, 결제·환불·분쟁 상태, 동의한 정책 버전, 구매자 진술(성인 또는 보호자), 타임스탬프 및 출시·카탈로그 해시만 수신합니다. COMMIT은 전체 카드 번호를 수신하거나 저장하지 않습니다.
Signed-in devices · 로그인 기기
A COMMIT account is for one person. To keep it that way, COMMIT records, for each signed-in device, its type (phone, tablet, or computer, read from your browser’s request headers), a short browser and operating-system label, the country of the request, a sign-in session identifier, and when it was first and last used. COMMIT does not fingerprint devices. You can stay signed in on up to two devices of each type; signing in on a third signs out the one of that type used least recently. You can see and sign out your devices in Settings.
COMMIT 계정은 한 사람을 위한 것입니다. 이를 위해 로그인한 기기마다 기기 유형(휴대폰·태블릿·컴퓨터, 브라우저 요청 헤더로 판단), 브라우저·운영체제 표시, 접속 국가, 로그인 세션 식별자, 최초·최근 사용 시각을 기록합니다. 기기 지문(fingerprint)은 수집하지 않습니다. 유형별로 최대 2대까지 로그인 상태를 유지할 수 있으며, 3번째 기기로 로그인하면 그 유형에서 가장 오래 사용하지 않은 기기가 로그아웃됩니다. 설정에서 기기 목록을 확인하고 로그아웃할 수 있습니다.
Browser extension · 브라우저 확장 프로그램
Common App autofill: after you connect the extension and press Fill this page on apply.commonapp.org, the extension reads your saved profile from COMMIT over a signed, single-use request and types it into that page in your browser. It reads field labels on that page inside your browser to find where each value goes, sends nothing from the page to COMMIT, does not keep the values in extension storage, and never clicks, saves, or submits. Each connection lasts 10 minutes.
Common App 자동입력: 확장 프로그램을 연결하고 apply.commonapp.org 에서 Fill this page 를 누르면, 확장 프로그램이 서명된 1회용 요청으로 COMMIT 에 저장된 프로필을 읽어 브라우저 안에서 그 페이지에 입력합니다. 값을 넣을 칸을 찾기 위해 브라우저 안에서만 페이지의 항목 이름을 읽고, 페이지 내용을 COMMIT 으로 보내지 않으며, 값을 확장 프로그램 저장소에 남기지 않고, 클릭·저장·제출을 하지 않습니다. 연결은 한 번에 10분 유지됩니다.
Optional extension telemetry has its own version and choice. Without the exact current grant, the database denies a telemetry capability. Withdrawing revokes active telemetry capabilities and queues downstream deletion.
선택적 확장 프로그램 원격 측정에는 별도 버전과 선택이 적용됩니다. 정확한 최신 동의가 없으면 데이터베이스가 원격 측정 권한 발급을 거부합니다. 철회 시 활성 권한을 폐기하고 하위 시스템 삭제를 대기열에 등록합니다.
Withdrawal and deletion · 철회 및 삭제
A saved withdrawal immediately makes the optional purpose ineligible and creates a downstream deletion job. Withdrawing an email opt-in queues nothing, because nothing is held downstream — sending simply stops. Provider deletion execution and account-wide export/deletion are not yet runtime-verified, so those broader claims remain unavailable.
To have your account and all its data deleted, or to get a copy of your data, email support@commit.ac. We complete these requests within 10 days of receiving them. Self-service deletion and download in Settings → Privacy are being prepared and are not yet available.
저장된 철회는 해당 선택 목적을 즉시 비활성화하고 하위 시스템 삭제 작업을 생성합니다. 이메일 수신 선택을 철회하면 하위 시스템에 보관된 것이 없으므로 삭제 작업은 생성되지 않고 발송만 중단됩니다. 제공업체 삭제 실행 및 계정 전체 내보내기·삭제는 아직 런타임 검증이 완료되지 않아 더 넓은 보장은 제공하지 않습니다.
계정과 모든 데이터의 삭제 또는 데이터 사본은 support@commit.ac로 요청하세요. 요청을 받은 날부터 10일 안에 처리합니다. 설정 → 개인정보에서 직접 삭제·내려받기는 준비 중이며 아직 제공되지 않습니다.
If COMMIT changes hands · 영업 양도·합병 시
If the business that runs COMMIT is transferred, merged, or otherwise changes hands, and your personal information goes with it, we tell you before it moves: that the transfer will happen, the name, address, and contact of the receiving party, and how to say you do not want your information transferred — for example, by asking us to delete your account before the transfer. The receiving party may use your information only within the purposes stated in this notice, and must give you notice and honor your choices as this notice does.
COMMIT을 운영하는 사업이 양도·합병 등으로 다른 주체에게 넘어가면서 개인정보가 함께 이전되는 경우, 이전되기 전에 미리 알려 드립니다. 알리는 내용은 이전 사실, 양수자의 명칭·주소·연락처, 그리고 개인정보가 이전되기를 원하지 않을 때의 절차(예: 이전 전에 계정 삭제 요청)입니다. 양수자는 이 안내에 밝힌 목적의 범위 안에서만 개인정보를 처리하며, 이 안내와 같이 고지하고 사용자의 선택을 지켜야 합니다.

COMMIT accepts students who live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. This section adds what the GDPR and the UK GDPR ask us to tell you. The controller is the operator named in “Who runs COMMIT and who to ask” below.
유럽경제지역(EEA)·영국·스위스에 사는 학생도 COMMIT을 이용할 수 있습니다. 이 절은 GDPR과 영국 GDPR이 알리도록 요구하는 내용을 더한 것입니다. 개인정보 처리 책임자(controller)는 아래 “운영 주체와 개인정보 보호책임자”에 적은 운영자입니다.
Why we use your data, and the legal basis for each use. Running your account and the service you signed up for — your schools, deadlines, tasks, application answers and essays, Patrick, and reminders: it is needed for our contract with you. The AI features (Patrick and reference drafts), and everything this notice calls optional — emails you choose, in-app offers, Discord, research, and sensitive application details: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings → Privacy. Sensitive application details (race or ethnicity, religion, health or disability, sexual orientation or gender identity, criminal or disciplinary history) are kept only with that separate, explicit consent. Keeping COMMIT secure, preventing abuse and fraud, and the product usage records described above: our legitimate interest in running a safe service. Where your data goes. COMMIT is run from Korea, and the processors listed above process data in the United States and Japan. The European Commission has decided that Korea and Japan protect personal data adequately. For each processor in the United States, the safeguard is the data processing agreement stated for it above; where that says it is not yet concluded, there is no such safeguard for that processor yet.

Your rights. You can ask to see, correct, delete or get a copy of your data, to restrict how it is used, and to object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Write to the address in “Contact and requests” below. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work.
